Jenbacher Power Plant Successfully Comissioned

Rurelec PLC (AIM:RUR), announces that its Empresa Guaracachi subsidiary in Bolivia has successfully commissioned its latest power plant. The 6 MW Jenbacher II plant at Aranjuez in Sucre consists of three high efficiency General Electric Jenbacher gas engines. It complements the 8 MW Jenbacher I project in Sucre which was brought on line in August 2006.

Having successfully completed testing, the units were officially accepted onto the Bolivian grid, the Sistema Interconectada Nacional, at a meeting yesterday of the relevant authority, the Comision Nacional de Despacho de Carga. The new plant will be inaugurated in a formal ceremony on Thursday 14th August. The new generation capacity is expected to run at baseload, helping to meet Bolivia's growing demand for power.
